আজ শনিবার ৫ অক্টোবর বিশ্ব শিক্ষক দিবস। অন্যান্য দেশের মত বাংলাদেশেও যথাযথ মর্যাদায় পালিত হচ্ছে এই দিবসটি। শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় এই দিবসকে ঘিরে উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে নানান কর্মসূচির। এবারের প্রতিপাদ্য হচ্ছে, শিক্ষায় নতুন সামাজিক অঙ্গিকার।
মন্ত্রণালয় বলছে, জাতি গঠনে শিক্ষকের অবদানের স্বীকৃতি স্বরূপ তাদের সম্মাননা জানানো হবে। আর এর মাধ্যমে অন্য শিক্ষকদেরও উৎসাহিত ও অনুপ্রাণিত করার লক্ষ্যে ৫ অক্টোবর ‘বিশ্ব শিক্ষক দিবস’ উদযাপন করা হবে। সেই লক্ষ্যে ‘বিশ্ব শিক্ষক দিবস উদযাপন নীতিমালা ২০২৪’ প্রণয়ন করা হয়েছে।

ঢাকা- সিলেট মহাসড়কের নবীগঞ্জ উপজেলার গজনাইপুর ইউনিয়নের দিনারপুর এলাকার নিকটবর্তী গালিবনুর পেট্রোল পাম্পের সামনে ট্রাক ভর্তি বালুগাড়ি ও পিকআপের সংঘর্ষে ঘটনাস্থলে হেলপার নিহত।
পুলিশ ও স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানাযায়, বৃহস্পতিবার (৩ অক্টোবর) সকাল ৭ টার দিকে নবীগঞ্জ উপজেলার গজনাইপুর ইউনিয়নের দিনারপুর এলাকার নিকটবর্তী গালিবনুর পেট্রোল পাম্পে সামনে ঢাকাগামী একটি বালু ভতি ট্রাক (ঢাকা মেট্রো- ট ১৮-৫৫৯৪) ও সিলেট গামী একটি পিকআপ (ঢাকা মেট্রো-ন ১৮-৭৫৪১) আসা মাত্র সংঘর্ষে পিকআপের হেলপার নেত্রকোনা জেলার দুর্গাপুর উপজেলার কাইয়ূম মিয়া (৩৫) ঘটনাস্থলে নিহত হয়েছে। এতে আহত হয়েছেন চালক রংপুর জেলার শ্রী চন্দন চন্দ্র। স্থানীয় লোকজন আহত ব্যক্তিকে উদ্ধার করে নবীগঞ্জ উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্স হাসপাতালে প্রেরণ করেন।
এ দুর্ঘটনার খবর পেয়ে শেরপুর হাইওয়ে থানা পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে লাশের সুরতহাল রিপোর্ট তৈরি করে ময়না তদন্তের জন্য হবিগঞ্জ সদর আধুনিক হাসপাতালে প্রেরণ করেন। দূর্ঘটনায় কবলিত বালু ভতি ট্রাক ও পিকআপ শেরপুর হাইওয়ে থানার পুলিশ জব্দ করে।

নবীগঞ্জে পানিতে ডুবে ৪ বছরের এক শিশুর মৃত্যু হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার (১অক্টোবর) সকাল ৮টার দিকে নবীগঞ্জ উপজেলার কালিয়াভাঙ্গর ইউনিয়নে ইমামবাড়ী বাজারের সংলগ্ন চরগাঁও গ্রামে এই ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে।
সে নবীগঞ্জ উপজেলার ১২নং কালিয়াভাঙ্গর ইউনিয়নের ইমামবাড়ি বাজারস্থ চরগাঁও গ্রামের মো: আওলাদ মিয়ার ৪ বছরের শিশু কন্যা মোছাঃ তাহমিদা আক্তার মিম।
এ ব্যাপারে শিশুর পরিবারের লোকজনের সাথে কথা হলে তারা জানান, মোছাঃ তাহমিদা আক্তার মিম ঘরে খেলাধুলা করছিলো। এর মধ্যে তাহমিদা আক্তার সকলের অগোচরে বাড়ির সামনে একটি পুকুরে পড়ে যায়। এতে পরিবারের লোকজন তাকে ঘরে না পেয়ে বিভিন্ন স্থানে অনেক খোঁজাখুজির পর হঠাৎ তাদের পুকুরে ভাসমান অবস্থায় দেখতে পান। এ ঘটনার খবর পেয়ে নবীগঞ্জ থানা পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে শিশুটির লাশ উদ্ধার করে নবীগঞ্জ থানায় নিয়ে আসেন।
এ ব্যাপারে নবীগঞ্জ থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মো: কামাল হোসেন জানান, ঘরের পার্শ্বে পুকুরের পানিতে আংশিক, বাকি দেহ খানিকটা উপরে পড়া অবস্থায় আমরা তাকে উদ্ধার করি। এবং লাশের সুরতহাল প্রস্তুত করে লাশ ময়না তদন্তের জন্য হবিগঞ্জ সদর হাসপাতালে প্রেরন করা হয়েছে। এই বিষয়ে এখন পর্যন্ত কোন অভিযোগ পাওয়া যায়নি।
